Birgit Schweiger, nacida en 1970 en Ried im Innkreis, Austria, es una artista que explora las conexiones entre personas, emociones y el espacio a través de su obra.
Estudió Ciencias del Arte y Filosofía en la Universidad KU de Linz y continuó su formación en la Universidad de Arte de Linz, donde perfeccionó su práctica artística bajo la guía de maestros como Xenia Hausner y Anton Petz. Su trabajo se distingue por el uso dinámico del color y perspectivas estratificadas, fusionando figuración y abstracción para transmitir la energía entre los individuos.
Schweiger ha presentado sus obras en numerosas galerías en Austria y a nivel internacional, y sus piezas forman parte de colecciones públicas destacadas, como las del Museo Angerlehner y el Museo Nordico de Linz. En 2018, recibió el Premio de Reconocimiento Alfred Schmeller por su trabajo en grabado.

She studied Art Science and Philosophy at KU Linz University and later pursued further training at the Art University of Linz, where her artistic development was shaped by masterclasses with artists like Xenia Hausner and Anton Petz.Her work is characterized by a dynamic use of color and multilayered perspectives, blending figuration and abstraction to evoke the energy between individuals.
Schweiger has exhibited extensively in galleries across Austria and internationally, with her works included in prominent public collections such as the Museum Angerlehner and Museum Nordico in Linz. In 2018, she received the Alfred Schmeller Recognition Award for Printmaking.
Currently, she lives and works in Linz, where she continues to push artistic boundaries through her experimental approach to painting, printmaking, and installations.
