Pamela Martínez Rod is a Chilean artist and researcher based in Barcelona, Spain. Her work, which blends art, nature, and science, is grounded in research-driven practice. She teaches at the University of Barcelona and the Escola Massana Center d’Art i Disseny.
Martínez Rod has participated in notable residencies at institutions such as the Botanical Institute of Barcelona, CED-MACBA, and La Escocesa, as well as programs in Morocco, Mexico, and Galicia. She has received numerous awards, including multiple Fondart Art Research Grants (Chile), the OSIC GENCAT Scholarship (2021), and 1st Prize in Photography at the 7th Geoje International Art Festival in South Korea (2021).
Her work has been exhibited internationally, with shows in Spain, Germany, Mexico, Chile, China, and the U.S., in venues like Fundació Iluro, Artespacio Gallery, HUB Design Museum, and Big House Contemporary Art Center. Her pieces are part of public collections such as Bank Ibercaja, the University of Barcelona, and the Haegeumgang Theme Museum.
