MAPA FERROVIARIO

Amulio espinosa

WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF

12th to 23rd / 11 / 2024

The Finnish-Mexican artist and filmmaker Amulio Espinosa addresses the paradox of progress in relation to the natural environment through his multidisciplinary exhibition Mapa Ferroviario. Considered a work of poetic activism, the exhibition serves as an essential, unprecedented, and necessary witness that, through visual and auditory elements, captures a sample of spaces that are being irreversibly transformed by the controversial Tren Maya, a political megaproject being built in a biosphere reserve, which many consider an ecocide. Through sensations, movements, and human interventions in space, it invites reflection on the responsibility of our actions in an ecosystem that ultimately precedes us and will outlive us.
